Meet the Doctors

  • Dr.
    Carl Abbott

    Dr. Carl Abbott is a fourth generation optometrist and was born at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He earned his Associate of Arts degree as valedictorian at Central Christian College of McPherson, Kansas; Bachelor of Science in Organismal Biology at the University of Kansas with Highest Distinction; and Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He and his wife Debbie, a pharmacist at Webber Pharmacy, moved to Mexico, Missouri in 1995 and have two daughters.  Dr. Abbott enjoys providing full-spectrum eyecare for all ages and specializes in bifocal contact lenses, has served as an examiner for the National Board of Optometry, and is a founding member of the national Optometric Society.  Outside the office he is the laity leader at Mexico United Methodist Church and has acted in and directed numerous plays at Presser Hall in Mexico.

    Teresa Stice

    Dr. Teresa Stice graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology then went on to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and earned a Doctorate of Optometry, where she was an active member of The Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.  She sees patients in the Mexico and Vandalia offices.  Dr. Stice enjoys following a variety of eye issues such as healthy vision exams, contact lenses, dry eyes, foreign body removal, diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, infections, and many more.  Dr. Stice is married to Darren, the Chief Financial Officer of Family Health Center in Columbia, Missouri.  They have a daughter and a son.  Dr. Stice also contributes to community organizations such as the Southside Christian Church, Vandalia Rotary as the 2014-2015 president and Mexico High School's Band Parents' Board as the parent representative.
